Smiling ...

I had a lot of fun putting together this layout for How Much Is Too Much.  The challenge involved  using 43 things on your layout and  17 words or sentences in your journaling or 17 letters in your title.  Why? I hear you ask.  Well May is National Smile Month and apparently it takes 43 muscles to frown but only 17 to smile.  Goes to prove we should all smile a lot more.

Busy Busy ...

It's been a busy Get It Scrapped! end of week for me. My May class for "The Street Where You Live" went  up on Wednesday - this month we check out all things natural in our neighborhoods.

It was my week to do a sketch and layered template for Get Sketches - a double page layout this week which I hope everyone likes and may find some inspiration from.

Speaking of inspiration - this is my example layout for Get Teased. Can you figure out what my product and prompt challenge this month might be? Check it out.

I hear the drums ...

I drove Christopher and his friends in the Drum Circle to Karalta Gardens Nursing Home today as the group were to perform for the residents.  Most of the kids in the group are in Years 3 and 4 at CCAS with just the four boys from Year 6.  I was really proud of how he and his fellow students behaved and it was a lovely hour showcasing their skills for the ladies and gentlemen there. Well done everyone.

Playing misty for me ...

Woke this morning to this.

Looks like winter has arrived. It's been colder the past week, especially at night. Everyone now has electric blankets on their beds and Rachel has dragged out the small heater to give her feet some warmth when sitting at her desk studying. We have had the most beautiful May with temperatures way above normal so we knew it had to end sometime.

A new era ...

The school opened it's doors for a few hours this morning so we could check out the new building and all the wonderful facilities that have been added. A whole new "arts" building - kiln, wet room, art rooms, computer labs, recording studio, music practise rooms, performance room, drama studio, technical workshops, a wonderful French room with provincial kitchen, new lockers and amenity blocks. Very impressive. It is all state of the art. Rachel only gets the new for a few months but Christopher will enter high school with a complete and amazing facilities.

Sunday morning heaven ...

I just love how Christopher sets himself up to use the laptop on a Sunday morning.  Reclining chair, blanket, computer in the appropriate position, TV on to watch in between key strokes .... Ahh boy bliss!

For Mother's everywhere ...

It's Mother's Day - a beautiful sunny day, hope you are enjoying yours.

I had breakfast in bed this morning - the full english variety served on a tray. Yum.

My gorgeous daughter bought me this ...

(and I have a feeling a few thousand other Mum's may have be given this as well :))

and my wonderful son made me this ....

and I got to do some of this ....

and I gave my lovely MIL this ....

which I made in one of the classes at the scrapbooking Autumn Retreat in New Zealand. She was thrilled with it. It is a picture of her on the beach at Skegness in 1948. I adore scrapping with heritage and vintage pictures - they are just so full of amazing details.

A little Nic love ...

Thought I'd share the two layouts I did with Nic Howard. I am so not an ink and paper curling girl - well I thought I wasn't - but found that I totally loved doing this. There was something extremely therapeutic about wetting paper and rolling it with your fingers!! Anyway I really liked this class and love the layouts.

6x4 cuteness ...

I loved how this cute little 6x4 album came together. Five of these pages were put together as "Make and Takes" at the retreat. We were also given a little pack with enough bits and pieces to produce a front and back cover and a couple of extra pages. It came together beautifully although I am not sure yet which pictures I will use for this. Love it.

Mini Me ...

This cute little mini album was one of the classes I did in New Zealand - sweet isn't it. Typically I am yet to put the appropriate wording on the pages. These are images of my Dad and I taken when I was about 12m old.
