Perfect peace ...

The challenge on Scrapbookit this month is to get messy so this i what I did.

I spray misted my background sheet of patterned paper and then splattered it with white paint.  next I got out my paints and used the bubble wrap technique to add some more colour to my page.  Next another light spray with a shimmer mist which just give a slight sheen to the page.

I am in a bit of a run on using Project Life cards in place of patterned paper as I have so many of them so pulled some out and a photo of our gorgeous but extremely noisy cockatiel Jack - we love him but WOW sometimes we just want some PEACE !!  My son has often said he can hear him squawking, talking and whistling as he turns the corner into our street from the school bus stop and that is some six houses away.  I often wonder what the neighbours think :)

Also combining this challenge with one from Off the Rails Scrapbooking where if I have interpreted this correctly we were to use one of the words and inspiration from the mood board - in my case PEACE and the use of green (from the lips).

Red Stars ...

I am trying to get the odd Christmas layout done in amongst my other scrapping.  I have a huge stock pile of Christmas photos that go back years and I really need to catch up on some.  In fact I have a scrap day coming up in October and I think I will take only Christmas supplies and try and make a dint in them.

This page combines the elements of two September challenges - using RED from Another Scrappy Challenge  and the use of  STARS from Picture This.

One down .... now only 246 to go !!

Happy Birthday ...

Another pretty moodboard on Scrapbook Boutique this month

with a distinctly birthday theme to it.

I went with making a couple of cards using washi tape as my basis picking up the colours of the floating balloons.  I used two stickers which have been in my stash for ages and I wasn't quite sure what to do with - they worked brilliantly for this theme and it is always a good feeling when you finally find a use for something.

C & V ...

Anyone who knows me will tell you I am not one for sketches but I actually really like the one on Show Us Your Stuff this month - I think it was the clean lines that drew me.

I misted my backgraound cardstock and then got to work with my washi (which I actually cut down to narrow strips).  I added in some string, pearls and a couple of puffy stickers along with this gorgeous handmade felt star from Chantal Vandenberg and then outlined the page in black pen.

Joining in with the Scrapping Outback September challenge ...
WHITE Strawberry Red/Pink, Mango/Orange,and a little Lemon/yellow.
Create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in this photo and you MUST USE AT LEAST ONE PIECE OF CHIPBOARD (as Scrapping Outback is known for ALL its Chippie).
Finding paper that worked for this challenge was not easy.  After delving through my pile of papers I eventually settled on some from Teresa Collins Freestyle collection which have been in there forever!  It had the right combination of  strawberry, orange and yellow to fit.  I painted some chipboard stars yellow to add to my page along with some washi and enamel dots.  I'm pleased with the effect.

Hello today ...

Playing along with the sketch over on Scrap the Girls this month ...

I am desperately trying to use up some of my older supplies.  I have so much sitting in my stash .. it is time to use some of it.  I splattered my white card stock base with 4 different inks and then got out some Sassafrass embellishments (yes they are that old!). Some little golden gems and suitable wood veneer title (inked in yellow) and voila.  I wanted a bright and cheerful page and I think I have achieved that!

Me + Him ...

The Scrap the Boys challenge this month is to feature yourself in a layout.

I am normally behind the camera so finding a photo with my son and myself I had not already scrapped was no easy task and I had to resort to one from a good many years ago but I think it works.

The butterflies are lovely rub-ons and I have sprinkled my page with gold mist, wood veer stars and some enamel dots.

ARTastic in September ...

I think you will all like our challenge this month on ARTastic.  In September we feature this delightful piece by Donald James Waters called Spot on.  Our criteria is a Tribute to Dad - any Dad anyway you might like to portray them.

CRITERIA - A tribute to Dad

There are some really amazing pages from our design team this month - all wonderful, all just a little different from each other.  I love the different takes we get from everyone each month.

For my page I scrapped my favourite photo of my Dad and I out on the farm when I was tiny.  I was inspired by the blue and brown from the artwork and incorporated some spotted paper (hard to see) in my layers.  Miss you Dad !

Hope you can find time to swing past and play along with us. You have until 11.55pm on the last day of the month to submit your entry.

Pixels and Paper for September ...

This month on Pixels and Paper we have a colour challenge for you but as always please find other inspiration from our image as you would like - you might like to focus on flowers or include some insects on your page.  Perhaps you would like to do a spring related page - whatever inspires you about our image, please share it with us.

I don't think any guesses are needed to work out where my inspiration came from - bees - you have got to love them!

Hope you can come and join in with us this month.
