Scrap the girls ...

Loved the green themed mood board on Scrap the Girls this month and was compelled to give this one a try using teal and variations on the green.

That's Life ...

Love this very bright inspirational moodboard from Scrapbookit this month.  There is something about this one that just feels super positive.

I was drawn to both the colours and the word LIFE and have done a page featuring both.  I stamped the chipboard with a patterned stamp - this gives a really nice texture to the chipboard rather than fully covering it in ink.  The papers were left over from an old kit and needed to be used up.

I am also entering this page in the February Anything Goes challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge.

A little fantasy ...

Scrapbook Fantasies for February ....

A quick page using an older photo of my dd from my box of "left to scrap" photos of her childhood. This was put together using bits and pieces from my scrap paper basket and using scallop, circle and heart punches to create a few "embellishments".  The title was cut from a piece of patterned paper left over from a project for my ds.

We go a little crazy at our local scrap retreat - each one has a little theme for Saturday night dinner and this one was all about being a Princess for the night.  Some of us came with tiara's and others went the whole hog dressing up as their favourite princesses,  We even had the odd frog croak on by but unfortunately no amount of kissing produced anything the least bit charming!

Vintage Skegness ...

Such a pretty colour board on Scrap Much this month - I just couldn't resist using it for a page.

I played up the blue and green tones and added highlights in the pink/red.  I used the neutral as my background paper.

I love working with older black and white photographs - I find there is just so much character to be found in them.  They truly were snippets of everyday life.  Many photographs I have from my parents and my husband's parents are the "street" variety.  Professional photographers would take random photos of people passing by and then sell these photos on.  Owning your own camera was rare in those days and this was a great way of securing an image or two for little cost.

This photo is of my MIL and her sister walking down the street at Skegness, a popular summer holiday destination on the east coast of England.

I am also submitting this page to the February challenge at Scrap it With Attitude which, yes you guessed it, is a vintage one.

Scrap the boys ...

Scrap the Boys with a cute challenge this month ...

The things those boys of ours say ...

I decided to use up a few photographs from my son's toddler period.  He was such a busy little boy - totally full on as many are and both her (and me) needed some down time if only for a hour or so in the afternoon.

He would, of course, tell me quite forcibly that he didn't need a nap and that he wasn't the least bit tired but invariably as soon as his head hit the mattress he was out like a light.

By two ...

Enjoying playing along with Picture This during March.

Their first challenge this month is to use 2 photos + Photo Repetition + Splatters on your page.

I decided to use both a normal coloured photograph and a black and white version on my layout. Pink paint splatters across my background and some well placed brads and voila !

Hope you can play along too.
