123 ...

I love tic tac toe types of challenges and try to play along with 123 Get Scrappy each month.

I have used the bottom line of rhinestones, 3 different patterned papers and a stamped image (in my cash splatters).

At the last minute ...

Doing my last minute Nellie thing as per normal.  A final card for January using the #113 January sketch from Feeling Sketchy

Love this saying and it is so true - you will realise that as you grow older :)

Mother love ...

The second challenge on Picture This! is one close to my heart because I love (with a passion) using vintage photos and doing so will fit in nicely with the challenge requirements.

Picture This! - 3 photos + black & white + lace

This is little me and since I just said  these were vintage photographs I guess that puts me in the old category.  My Mum always told me "you are only as old as you feel" so I will own up to some days feeling 25 and others, older than Methuselah.

So three black and white photographs and a line of cream lace.

I spent the first two and a half months of my life in hospital and these are the first photos taken of me when I was finally at home.

Some more tic tac toe ...

The January challenge on Scrapbookit is a tic tac toe one and I love this type of challenge so I just had to play along.

January Challenge

I have used flowers, spray and chipboard on my page.

Please excuse my curled up edges - this always seems to happen when I use glimmer mist and this layout will need to get placed beneath a pile of others to flatten.  I have used spring rain on this page which gives a really lovely pale silver shine - lovely in real life but hard to see in a photograph.

A little fantasy never goes astray ...

Scrapbook Fantasies have two challenges this month and I am playing along with both of them.

The first challenge is to create a project using the word and theme LOVE!

One of the first photographs of my baby daughter home from hospital - she's now 21 so about time I scrapped this one I think !!

And the second is to use the colour theme is to use black, white and pastels – in the combination you choose!

I have used a pink and white background piece of patterned paper, highlighted around my pastel coloured circles and white doily in black pen and added a black and white cat :)

A little Jenni ...

Playing along with The Studio Challenges ...

Today is a simple challenge, as its the new year we want you to do a bit of clearing up! Whats sat on your desk? Are there photos, papers or bits and pieces that have been sat there for ages waiting to be scrapped but you never seem to get around to using them?

I like Jenni Bowlin products (that probably should read liked as they are now out of the main stream scrappy business).  I have quite a lot of her products and subscribed to her kit club for a number of years and I am still working through all the supplies I have stocked in my stash.  Amongst them are a few sheets of the die cut paper which have been there forever and I just never seem to know what to do with.  So pull out a sheet I did and put it to use.

Now I am going to need to find out what to do with the other half :)

Blue is for boys ...

I made this sweet card for a neighbour using bits and pieces from my scrap basket.

I am playing along with ...

Southern Girls - Firsts/New Beginnings
Whimsy Stamps - New Beginnings
Fantastic Tuesday - Baby card
The Male Room - shades of blue

Scrappy friends ..

Playing along with the Scrappy Friends challenges with Creating with Paper

and with Rochelle's tic tac toe challenge this month.

I have used sequins, ink and a border punch on my page and followed along with the colour palette.

A brand new day ...

Sometimes you start a layout not really knowing where it will end up, whether it will work as you think it will by the picture you have of it in your mind ... sometimes it does and other times not so well. This page is a case of something actually working out as I envisaged it would.

This page is all about the sunburst ... as per the challenge on Picture This! - 1 photo + sunburst + paint but it is also about the inspiration on Off the rails because I love the people with the sun at their backs welcoming a new day (and of course I love the colours).

This is my daughter at a school camp up the north coast some years ago.  A group of them decided to get up before sunrise to sit on the cliff tops and welcome in the new day.

Feeling Sassy ...

Love the simplicity of the inspiration on Sassy Scrappers this month - it appeals to both how I live my life and my style as a scrapbooker.

I love these colours - such a beautiful palette to work with ...

Grow Big with Tando Creative ...

Joining Tando Creative in their colour challenge this month.  I just love this colour combination and I guess my page might reflect that :)  .

4th Birthday with Scrapping Outback ...

Scrapping Outback are still on their white with ... roll and this month's inspiration is quite striking with pink and lime.

Create a layout inspired by ALL the colours in this photo and you MUST use at least one piece of chipboard.

You must use WHITE combined with the colours above. You can use printed paper as long as these colours are the main focus of the paper. There can be other colours on the printed paper, but not too much to take away from the colours in the inspiration picture.

This was actually harder than it looked as many of the papers in this colour combination I pulled out from my stash featured large doses of other colours.  Eventually I settled on a pink and white check for the bulk of my background and a pretty floral which featured pink and a yellow lime.  I mounted the photo on a striped lime and pale blue and added in some pink extras.  I coloured the chipboard 4th in the closest spray I had to lime.

Yo-Man for Scrap the boys ...

Scrap the boys have an interesting mood board for us this January.

I love both the colours and the grungy street scene feel to this - it really inspired me to dig through my stash for that perfect paper and to find the right photo to go along with it.

Just a simple fun page and another crossed off my yet to scrap pile.

Pixels and Paper in January ...

Welcome to a brand new year on Pixels and Paper and our very first challenge for 2015 ...

January is vacation month in Australia, the kids are out of school, many families take time out to spend with family and friends and a very many of us head to the beach or spend lots of time in our backyard swimming pools.  It is a time of shorts and thongs (flip flops), sea and sand.

What inspires you from our photograph?  It is the ocean waves, the silica sand, those arty looking thongs or the bright happy colours of pink, lime and purple?  Are you more drawn to the blue of the sky or the sea blue/green?  Does this image remind you of sun filled vacations or time spend at the beach?

Here is my take on the challenge ...

On hot summer nights my kids spend a lot of time in the pool - they have had so much fun in here over the years.  I was inspired by the summer aspect of the photograph and the colour combination of pink, purple and green although I have toned this down to more muted shades.

Please pop by the Pixels and Paper blog to see the wonderful pages our team has put together this month and then join in with us.  We would love to see your work.

ARTastic in January ...

Welcome to a brand new year ... I hope it is all you want it to be :)

Well January means another wonderful challenge at ARTastic, and I think you will LOVE this one.

It is super easy as there is no set criteria this month - just be inspired by this fantastic street art by Fintan Magee.

and here is my take on it.............

The four little boys lined up in costume reminded so much of these three boys lined up in costume that I just had to do a page depicting a rare school dress-up moment.

Please pop over to the ARTastic blog and see how the first half of the ARTastic team were inspired by this delightful artwork.  Come and join in with us - we would love to see your work.
