Show Us Your Stuff ...

Playing along with the sketch challenge on Show Us Your Stuff for December.

December 2017

I've gone with the same tropical feel of the sketch and used BoBunny Tutu glimmer spray on my background as spray and also as a scattering of droplets.

I had so much fun with this lovely group of ladies at a recent "Tropical themed" retreat - we were all so bright and colourful.

My handmade piece is a heart from Charms Creations.

Scrapping Outback ...

Enjoyed an hour to myself last night and managed to get a layout or two done for a couple of December challenges.

The first is for Scrapping Outback using this colour combination of white, red, green and a touch of blue.

I have had these photos in my photo file for years now never knowing quite what to do with them but when I saw this colour combination I just knew they would be a perfect match.

My son is the resident cake cook in this household and he decided to have a go at a Cupcake Tree for Christmas 2014.  The icing was a little greener than he had planned but it all came our rather well and tasted delicious.

I have used a little chipboard heart (inked the heart part in red).

Top 50 ...

Playing along with Scrapbooking Top 50 challenge for December with this gorgeous little moodboard.

I was taken not only with the colour combination but also the feathers and arrows which I have included on my page.

Kraft +

The mood board on Kraft + this month is just full of possibility ... do I use the colours, work with the shapes, take something from the theme? ... oh the decisions.

In the end I was really taken with the cushion and the pattern within the pattern.  I picked up a few of the colours from these as well - the deep pink, green and brown and used a number of extra circles in the form of buttons and pearls around my scalloped design.  The only kraft cardstock I currently have in my stash is the really pale variety but I figure kraft is kraft regardless of the colour tone.

Going BIG ...

I couldn't resist playing along with Kraft + this month.  Love the idea of going big!

I decided if I was going to go big then I may as well do it properly so I have used big, bold background paper, added in a bigger than normal photo and used BIG letters for a big title.

This is my local beach - it's big too :)

A few fancy F's ...

Image may contain: text
Show us your stuff this month is all about using things that start with F.

My page is all about using up little bits and pieces left over from various other projects that I tend to just throw into a small bowl on my craft desk.  It was time to fish all these bits out and put them to use.  My F's are flair, fabric, flowers.  There are a number of handmade embellishments on this page, the fabric yoyo being the main one.

Top 50 for October ...

Playing along this month with Scrapbooking Top 50 who feature this rather unusual moodboard for their challenge.

A few years ago now I decided it might be neat to do an album and create a page on each international destination my husband and I visited for our honeymoon. It seemed like a good idea at the time but of course I rather underestimated the scope of work required and number of locations visited so many years ago now so it is still very much an ongoing project.  Every now and again I will pull out a photo or two and add another page to that album and of course with this wonderful travel themed mood board the opportunity was too great to pass up.

So this page is for my Switzerland section - Lucerne in fact, such a really pretty city with beautiful medieval architecture and surrounded by snow capped mountains and bordered by Lake Lucerne. The covered Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge), built in 1333, across the River Ruess links the old city to the right bank.

Bee.utiful ...

I simply could not resist the challenge on Kraft+ this month - I'm a lover of bees and all things honey :)

Current Challenge

I was inspired by not only the bee theme but also the hexagonals and the bright happy feel of the inspiration board to do a layout featuring wonderful Manuka honey.

Mānuka honey is a monofloral honey produced in Australia and New Zealand from the nectar of the mānuka tree.  It is often touted as a "superfood" that treats many ailments, including allergies, colds and flu, gingivitis, sore throats, staph infections, and numerous types of wounds.  All this and it tastes devine as well :)

Think you will like the challenge we have on 123 Challenge Blog this month - it was certainly a fun one to put together.

September 123 Challenge

Here is my page featuring beautiful Russell in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand.

Hope you can play along with us this month.

White..with 1 ...

This month on White..with 1 we feature this really gorgeous colour called SOUL PEA - can't wait to see what you can do with this snazzy little colour!

and just to inspire you a little more - how about this moodboard to grab your attention.

I have actually played along this month rather than be behind the scenes and really enjoyed putting this page together - it is a lovely colour to work with.

Hope you can come join in with us.

It was off the rails ...

A last minute play along with the challenge on Off the Rails.

I was inspired by the graffiti and used this as a basis for my background along with the bright colour combination.

My son was fortunate to have THE James Morrison come to his school for a small group jam session.  Both the class of eager music students and attending teachers were in awe!!

Kraft + ...

Having very limited supplies for the time being due to an impending house move has really made me stretch my creative juices - it's been fun actually :)  I surprised myself with what you can achieve with the very, very basics.

Playing along with Kraft + this month.  Trees are amazing !!

Thanks for looking.

Congratulations ...

In between the painting and packing ready for a house move I found myself just wanting to craft a little bit with the limited supplies I still have available at the moment and decided to play along with Scrapbook Boutique this month.

Grey, black and white with a touch of yellow (and I also liked the grid line up of the moodboard).

My son has a number of friends sitting the HSC this year so I thought a "Congratulations" card will be put to good use!

And finally ...

And I think this is the last challenge page for this month.

White with Orange, Gold and Kraft plus chipboard for Scrapping Outback.

Most of my scrapping supplies are packed away now as I am clearing my craft room ready to paint in preparation for putting our house on the market.  This page is done using project life cards.  I am not sure who manufactured the chipboard as most of these supplies are loose in a draw.  I have used Heidi Swapp gold spray ink on the chipboard and to also splatter across my page and finished everything off with some orange enamel dots.

Getting into the blue and green ...

In amongst the packing of boxes, painting of walls and moving around of furniture ready for the sale of our house I am trying to carve out a little "me" down time every now and again or I just might go a little stir-crazy. I managed to shut the door and do a little crafting last night while everyone else was busy doing other stuff and managed to finish off a couple of pages for June challenges.

The first is for Scrapbooking Top 50 who ask us to scrap Non Perfect photos.  The one I have chosen is certainly not perfect - it is slightly out of focus and the contrast is all wrong as is the lighting but I love it all the same because it speaks to me.  I see my children - one with green eyes, one with blue and oh how those eyes say it all ...

The second is for Show us your stuff which has a colour challenge this month.

June 2017

I have gone with the blue and green combination, scrapping some photos from a family fun day many years ago when birthday parties meant jumping castles and lots of laughs for everyone.

All a bit crazy ...

I am in the midst of packing boxes for a fast approaching house move but this afternoon I carved out a small window of time to just spend scrapping a few challenges because quite frankly I was going just a little crazy!

Playing along with Scrapbookit this month where the challenge is to create a project using 6x6 papers, Geometric shapes and Chipboard.

Most of my supplies are now packed away including all my 6x6 paper pads but I had a tiny selection in a swap pack I received which was still sitting in my desk drawer so I pulled these out and ran with what was available.  I used triangles to create an almost crazy pattern to go along with the crazy chipboard word and added in a photo of our cat who does crazy things.

Gold ...

I am in the midst of packing boxes for a fast approaching house move but this afternoon I carved out a small window of time to just spend scrapping a few challenges because quite frankly I was going just a little crazy!

Playing along with Scrapbook Boutique with this moodboard ...

... and made this card using strips of washi inspired by the lines of gold arrows.  The frame replicates the mirror and I have added in an acetate greeting and some gold stars.

STB June ...

I am in the midst of packing boxes for a fast approaching house move but this afternoon I carved out a small window of time to just spend scrapping a few challenges because quite frankly I was going just a little crazy!

Playing along with Scrap the Boys with a very bright and vibrant colour challenge this month.

My page isn't quite so vibrant but all the colours are in there and I don't think you can get any more boyish than a teen speeding around a go-cart circuit.

Most of my supplies are now packed away but I have kept out a number of kits to go on with - this one was mainly Crate Paper - Boys Rule - I loved this range.

Here is my interpretation ...

Hope you can join in with us this month.

Pretty in pink ...

Another pretty moodboard on Scrapbook Boutique this month.  Loved the pink, white and gold tones of this and decided to run with a simple card in these colours.

Puppy clutching or not ...

Show us your stuff has a super cute moodboard this month - and I could not resist playing along with them.

Image may contain: 1 person, text

I was immediately drawn to the little boy clutching his puppy and pulled out an older photo of my daughter with our elderly cat (who wasn't much into the being clutched tightly at that stage).  I was also quite taken with the lovely quote and found one that contained "happy" and worked with that also pulling a lot of the colours from this onto my page. I used some handmade embellishments (super easy - punched circle, flower and button).

A tight squeeze ...

Another freaking scrappy challenge has a challenge all about toys or pets which lead me to create a page about of rather excessive cat who likes going into the pool area because all manner of "exciting things" happen in there but has a little difficulty extracting himself from this environment - he's a little too fat to easily fit through the pool fence ...

These are papers and embellishments from Basic Grey.  I loved this manufacturer and was really sad when they decided to leave the paper crafting industry.

Coming home ...

Scrap the Boys have a Mother's Day theme happening for their challenge this month - including photos that include Mothers and Sons in whatever combination is meaningful to you.

Since the image had some pink in it I said :Why not!!" - no rules on including pink on a boys page, in fact I really like that added splash of colour - and since I was in there too it felt just right.  I am busy using older supplies this year in a vane effort to reduce my stash and have been mixing it with newer embellishments, not sure this is really working but at least I am trying!

I used an older photo of my baby son and myself on our final day in hospital - he's all dressed ready for coming home.
