Just relax ...

Playing along with the moodboard on Off the Rails Scrapbooking this month - nothing like something very bright and vibrant to get those creative juices flowing.

Added theme -  "A Relaxing Day"

My family spent a wonderful and relaxing day at the cataract Gorge in Launceston when on vacation in 2013.  It is a simply gorgeous spot with amazing scenery, lovely bush tracks to trek, lake and river views, cafe with resident peacocks - nothing not to like really.  One of the highlights was the ride on the chairlift where you could take in the panoramic view of the entire site from a very high vantage point.  Heights and I don't mix well but my dh kept telling me to "Just relax" so I did.  The kids followed us and they seemed to have no problems taking in the scenery and the sheer drop!!

Using some washi ...

A really unique colour combination on Scrapping Outback this month which took a little thinking about.

I decided to create my page using no patterned paper at all except the background base sheet - all the colour strips come from washi tape.  Embellishments are die cuts and labels and a smattering of wood veneer hearts and pearls.  My chipboard piece is the "Happy Days" title which I inked in black.

A landscape ...

Playing along with the first challenge at The Studio Challenges during March which is all about ...

Landscapes - we want you to focus on the landscape for this challenge; it could be a great view or sunset for example but we don't want to see any people in the photo!

Many years ago I started an album featuring special places I have visited in my lifetime - it was initially meant to be all about those tourist spots my dh and I visited on our honeymoon when we visited the UK and Europe but it soon broadened to include lots of other special places from all over the world and within Australia that touched me with their beauty or significance or historical importance.  It's an ongoing project and probably one I will never actually finish because I hope to continue to see the beauty of nature or have a destination tug on my heart strings.

This page and the place it depicts is one of them ...

March at Pixels and Paper ...

This month on Pixels and Paper we hope to inspire you with this photograph and ask you to create an entry in a MONO CHROMATIC colour scheme (using a single colour selection in different shades). It doesn't have to be brown - you can use any colour base you like.

My take was somewhat predictable and that is just fine with me :)

JANE
Inspired by the drink theme and use of hearts.

Hope you can come and play along with us this month.

ARTastic in March ..

Hope you can join us on ARTastic during March..  This time we are inspiring you with a really quirky artwork by Mia Taninaka called Oh The Wise One.  I am sure you will love this as much as I do.

CRITERIA - Wood Veneer

A little about Mia Taninaka  - The little girl who once painted a forest all over her bedroom walls has grown up to be a wizard of fine line and expansive colour. Sydney born, Mia now lives and creates in the calm and elemental Bali. Painting predominantly with acrylics, watercolour and ink, Mia currently exhibits throughout Australia and Asia, always looking to expand her horizons. She likes to draw and paint on found wooden objects and panels, creating stunning colourful imaginative works inspired by her Japanese heritage and Australian roots.

Lots of wonderful inspiration from the first of our team up on the blog - pop past and check them out.   We'd love to see your new paper, digital, mixed media or off the page entries and you have all month to play along.
