Let's capture our memories ...

Let's capture Our Memories has an unusual colour combination for their July Colour Spot challenge this month ...

... and I have to admit I was immediately drawn to it as I just knew I had the perfect set of papers hidden away at the bottom of my stash that had been there for years.  I had never gotten around to using them because ... well they were unusual colours !!!

Yes it's awesome ...

Loved this moodboard on Scrap Around the World this month - so bright and vibrant and I could do with a little cheering up after weeks of illness in this household and lots of cold winter days.

Also combining this challenge with the one on Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge which was to add the word Awesome to your page.

A little 123 ...

Playing along with 123 Challenge blog this month and their super bright and colourful moodboard.

I have pulled out some bright and colourful patterned papers myself which was quite a challenge in itself as I don't have many I can class as "fluro" but did my best.  I added yellow ribbon across a strip of paper and at the bottom on my page and used the word kind in my pseudo journaling - my son was extra thrilled his sister made a cake and quite happily claimed it as his own!

D"lish in July ...

Joining in with the July challenge at D'Lish.

I took the colours and the inspiration of the "Let's go on an adventure" along with the chevron pattern from the cushion and created a double page of a day trip my daughter took into the city.  I used this gorgeous cityscape patterned paper which has been in my stash for forever and am thrilled I finally found a use for it.  I wanted to keep my page simple so this paper could shine.

Some July challenges ...

Almost out of time for some of these challenges - nothing like uploading at the last minute.

Off the Rails - July Moodboard

I thought these colours were perfect for a Christmas layout and since it IS July even the month seemed appropriate.

123 Get Scrappy - July Challenge

As this is their very last challenge I couldn't let this one pass without putting in a final entry.

I have used Hello, Butterflies and a Black and White photo for my page.

Scrap Much - July Colour challenge

Such a pretty colour inspiration and I have predominantly used blue, green, yellow with a touch of muted purple and red.

It's ARTastic in July ...

Our challenge for July is up and going over on ARTastic Challenge Blog.

This month we hope to inspire you with this wonderful painting by Shirley Charlton (aka Shirlroma) called "Umbrellas, wet street".  We thought it was kind of fitting considering all the rain we have been getting on the east coast.

CRITERIA is to use water (liquid) in some way on your page (ink spray, gelatos, paper crumple, watered down paint, make handmade flowers etc).  Just tell us how water was applied.

A little about Shirley Charlton ...

Shirley Roma Charlton was born in Malawi Central Africa and is now based in Brisbane, Australia. She is an international professional fine artist and her work has sold all over the world. With many art Exhibitions behind her and having judged many art shows, she loves teaching art. Her inspirational watercolours and soft pastels show a love for seascapes while her figure painting show vibrant rich colours with bold strokes.

Proceeds from her work goes back to Malawi to help a village called Manyowe outside Blantyre.  She also teaches art for the unemployed and homeless.

So hope you can play along this month - we'd love to see your creation linked up on the ARTastic blog.
