Lately I've been ...

EATING | take out on a cold winter night
DRINKING | hot chocolate with lots of marshmallows
WATCHING | Once Upon a Time and loving it
LISTENING | to everyone in the house coughing in unison
WANTING | us all to get over this horrible virus that has laid us flat for the better part of two weeks
FEELING |  totally BLAH
LOVING | snuggling in bed with a good book (or two or three)
NEEDING | to get better soon
SEARCHING | for more time and energy to get some things done
ANTICIPATING | a great upcoming weekend away

Being a Scrap Friend ...

I recently became a customer of Scrapfriends for the first time and in my order received an invitation to submit an entry into their monthly colour challenge.  So I did!

The palette was a soft subtle mix of limes, pink and I guess a teal and I took it a stage further to include the grey from the frame and a touch of white.

I've been on a quest lately to use up those final baby photos from so many years ago.  The picture quality certainly isn't as wonderful as the digital prints I can take today sadly but Rachel was a such a happy little soul I think you look past the photo quality.  It's good to know I have another one of those early years pages completed.

Just a mess ...

Over on Scrap the Boys were are getting down and dirty.

You need to use a photo of your boy(s) getting dirty, this could be anything from mud, paint, dirt, cooking, eating and so on...
I also want your photo to inspire your layout is some way.

I've used the colours in the picture (namely the teal and gold in my son's uniform) to give direction to the colour choices and embellishments I've used on this page.

Journaling reads :
A fair percentage of your winter hockey games had early morning starts and it was invariably foggy and damp underfoot with a wind chill factor well outweighing the actual ground temperature.  Many times you played in pouring rain, drizzle and the odd thunderstorm.  When it came to the annual hockey award presentation though it was a very different matter.  It always seemed to be an unseasonably warm  for September  – blazing sunshine and paddle pop melting hot, in fact.                                                          ~ Wyong 2006

Show us ....

Been enjoying doing Show us your stuff this month using this picture as inspiration.

I was drawn to the colours in this poster - the vivid blue of the sky and the shades of green and gold of the island with the little highlighted touches of red in the hot air balloon and the books and t-shirt on the boy.  These colours very much reminded me of a set of pictures I had taken on a trip to the beach - the same brilliant blue in the sky and the water and the shimmery effect of the gold coloured sands.

123 May ...

This month 123 Challenge Blog has asked us to use ...

Word - Enjoy
Colour - Orange
Technique - Using Bakers twine

I used a photograph of my daughter school friends all lined up on a balcony at a sleep over.  I'm glad they posed for this shot as there aren't very many of the group together.  Now she has left school it seems an age since they all caught up.
