Fijian glory ...

Time for a new challenge #210 at Lasting Memories and this week our theme is "Nature's Glory" and we're looking for animals and/or scenery. 

I've used a photograph from an end of year school trip my daughter took to Fiji in 2010.  It truly is a beautiful scene.  Swinging in a hammock beneath swaying palm trees, crystal blue water lapping against golden sand, sun streaming down from a brilliant blue sky ... what's not to like?

I have also entered this layout in the monthly challenge at Off the Rails Scrapbooking using this moodboard.

Rochelle and Kelly ...

Joining in with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge on Rochelle Spears this month  and combining it with the Kelly's Paper and More Colour challenge ...

I have used the middle vertical line on the tic tac toe boards of Stitching, Numbers and jewels while combining colours from the inspiration.  I have also used floral patterned paper to replicate the floral image.

Feeling D- lish ....

Another pretty mood board on D-lish Scraps this month.  Mood boards are certainly really popular at the moment and I guess we know why when we see such lovely images as this one.

Lots of  pretty yellow and pink and peach in this collection which certainly inspired me with my own page.  I also added in touches of grey which can be seen on the background of some of the pictures and the table in the bottom right.

Domesticated boys ...

Are your Boys (big and Small) Domesticated?? 

Have you sprung them helping out around the house?

That's the question being asked over on Scrap the Boys this month.

Yes, this month's challenge is all about domestic capability and I am happy to report my son has buckets of it.  In fact my boy is the chief cake and biscuit maker in this house and has been for quite a few years now.  Barely a weekend goes by where he isn't in the kitchen baking cake, whipping up brownies, pulling together the odd dessert or two.

Some fun with Scrapstuffz ...

ScrapStuffz  have two images on which to base your challenge submission this month.

Both use bright primary colours which I have used on my own page.

I was particularly taken with the fair image and hunted through my photo stash to find this fun pic of a day we spent at Luna Park quite a few years ago now but had remained unscrapped.

We had a great day enjoying the rides, eating lots of things we probably shouldn't have been eating and taking advantage of the many photo prompts scattered throughout the grounds which resulted in this amusing photograph.

Some Happy Times ...

I was quite taken with the mood board on Gauche Alchemy this month.  Some wonderful imagery with a vintage / country chic twist.

I was particularly taken with the subtle colours and have used these on my page.  I also linked in the heart and the tulle skirt with my flowers and embellishment.

I love this happy photo of my daughter with her Grandfather - I have so few of these as he passed away the following year making these all the more precious.  These certainly were happy times for my family.

SUYS September ...

A very pretty mood board on Show Us Your Stuff this month - lots of things here to inspire.

I was inspired by the bright happy colours of pink and red and yellow with touches of blue and green to document the "pink" stage of my daughter's room.  I've used a Charms Creations embellishment as my handmade piece.

This week we're looking for "Fall Colours" on those layouts or as we say here is Australia ... Autumn Colours! Doesn't have to be a 'fall' layout, we're just looking for the colours.

Gosh another week flashed past.  This is my DT page for Lasting Memories challenge #208 where the challenge is to add leaves to your work, an easy one for everyone this time around.   I kept my page simple and included this lovely quote 

Life is a series of thousands of tiny miracles by Mike Greenburg. 

My leaves can be found  in  the patterned paper and the ribbon underneath the photograph.

Our next theme on Lasting Memories is Let's Celebrate ~ scrap a layout about any celebration ... Birthdays, Christmas, festivals, weddings, anniversaries,  etc etc.  I've done a page about for my son's 15th birthday.

Pixels and Paper for September ...

This month we celebrate Father's Day in Australia so as a tribute to Dad's everywhere Pixels and Paper Challenge Blog brings you a little male focused inspiration.  That doesn't mean we expect male dominated pages - oh No!  In fact you can select anything that inspires you from this image on which to base your page - it could be the fishing or the silhouette, perhaps the sunrise or sunset or the lovely water scene.  Maybe the muted colour scheme attracts you - whatever the inspiration we would love to see your pages.

I was inspired by the sunset/sunrise aspect of this photograph.  It is a magical time caught between night and day, when the earth is still and tranquil like it is just catching it's breath.

An ARTastic September ...

This month at ARTastic  we are being inspired by an artwork with a difference.  This amazing piece by 
Dominique Falla called Tipografia and yes this is all about the string !!  Although you may well also be inspired by the words or the colours of the image.

These gorgeous little items are on display at my local Japanese Gardens and I couldn't resist taking a few photos on my last visit.
