It has been a privilege and a joy watching these little babies grow. From featherless little beaks barely raised above the rim of the nest to cute and fluffy little chicks precariously balanced on branches, we have watched over in awe at these new beginnings.

A vintage summer ...
Couldn't let January slip by without doing a page for the monthly challenge at Off the Rails Scrapbooking. I just love this vintage image - such happy bright colours and a summery vintage theme.
and it is perfect for a bright, happy layout about summer from my childhood - after all I am vintage !!
this was based on a sketch from Stuck sketches. I reduced the number of photos down to one 6x4.
There are a few days left to play along with these challenges - hope you can stop by too.

A winters day ...
Playing along with Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge this month with this challenge ...
to scrap a winter theme or colour scheme
I have gone with the colour scheme doing a layout about a trip to Melbourne my daughter and her boyfriend took during winter a few years ago - it was a cold and wet couple of days but they had a lot of fun seeing all the inner city tourist sights.
Also entering this in the Anything Goes monthly challenge at Clique Kits.

Pixels and Paper and paint ...
A hearty welcome to 2016 on Pixels and Paper. We hope you had a wonderful festive season and are back eager to start another brand new year with us on Pixels and Paper. We have more wonderful inspiration, fantastic prizes and guesting opportunities for you this year.
Let's start with this delightful bright and happy photograph. This year we are introducing a criteria to each month - don't worry they are all super simple but are designed to just give you a little more challenge in the challenge :)
CRITERIA is to use PAINT on your entry
Here is my page ...
JANE
I loved the colours but was mostly drawn to the theme of being covered in paint and have done a cheeky layout about this :)
Lots more inspiration for you to view on the blog. Hope you can come and play along with us this month.
An ARTastic summer ...
Our first inspiration for ARTastic in 2016 is this wonderful painting by Isabelle May Tweddle called Bondi Scene.
CRITERIA is Summer theme
Please remember a Summer theme is YOUR Summer theme, it doesn't have to be beach related. It can be anything Summer means to you - playing in the pool, watching Summer sport, walking in the park, ice creams, cold drinks, sunscreen and hats ....
Here is my take on the inspiration and theme ...
Here is my take on the inspiration and theme ...
Inspired by the red, blue, yellow and sand colours and the beach theme - I am so lucky to live so close to the ocean. I should never take that for granted.
We have some more delightful inspiration to show you on the blog, so hope you can come and play along with us this month.

Guesting on 123 ...
Totally thrilled to be guesting on 123 Challenge Blog this month using this amazing recipe ...
I love yellow - such a cheerful colour - it's the colour of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity, sunshine and summer here in Australia. I am sure you can see that in my layout.
Hope you can join in with 123 Challenge Blog during January and show us your own love of yellow.
Renew ...
Last year my One Little Word was a phrase “Letting It Go”. I had so much baggage in my life – both physically
and mentally I truly wanted to sort through it all and remove some of it from
my life. In a way 2015 taught me that life
is way too short to get weighed down by meaningless excesses – moving forward
is easier when you aren’t carrying things you don’t really need or simply aren’t
helpful to you - I needed to let it go and I did.
In 2016 my One Little Word to try and live by is Renew. Time to refresh my life – again physically
and mentally.
