A favourite colour, or two ...

The February challenge on Scrapbooking Top 50 this month is to scrap your favourite colour

which left me with somewhat of a dilemma as I love most colours.   I guess I am drawn to bright happy primary colours and I do scrap a lot with both green and red so went with this choice for my page.

Lovely vintage ...

Playing along with the Mood Board #69 challenge on Scrap Africa this month.  It is vintage and I just adore vintage style and so I have taken this challenge more in the literal sense and scrapped an old photo from the early 1930's of my Grandparents.

I have tried to stay with the colours in the moodboard and the general feel of postcards.

Sweet memories ...

Joining in with the sketch challenge on The Studio Challenges this month where I have created a page for CSI - Color Stories Inspiration using Case File 191.

I have rotated the sketch so my second embellishment cluster is on the top left rather than the bottom right and in place of patterned paper I have used stencils, paint and labels.

This is a photo of my daughter taken on family vacation many years ago. I love the feel of this picture - how small and sweet she was; it brings back special memories.

Perfect Blooms ...

Playing along with the February challenge on Off the Rails Scrapbooking this month where you get a choice of two mood boards in which to find some inspiration.  I was drawn to this colour palette for my page.

I decided to do my page featuring a beautiful floral display I received earlier in the month.  I have picked up on two shades of pink on a white background and added in touches of grey.

A new challenge for me ...

It's green ...

Playing along with White with One using a sketch from Scrap it with Attitude FB group this month.

It has been a privilege and a joy watching these little babies grow.  From featherless little beaks barely raised above the rim of the nest to cute and fluffy little chicks precariously balanced on branches, we have watched over in awe at these new beginnings.

A vintage summer ...

Couldn't let January slip by without doing a page for the monthly challenge at Off the Rails Scrapbooking.  I just love this vintage image - such happy bright colours and a summery vintage theme.

and it is perfect for a bright, happy layout about summer from my childhood - after all I am vintage !!

this was based on a sketch from Stuck sketches.  I reduced the number of photos down to one 6x4.

I have gone with the colour scheme doing a layout about a trip to Melbourne my daughter and her boyfriend took during winter a few years ago - it was a cold and wet couple of days but they had a lot of fun seeing all the inner city tourist sights.

An ARTastic summer ...

Our first inspiration for ARTastic in 2016 is this wonderful painting by Isabelle May Tweddle called Bondi Scene.

Please remember a Summer theme is YOUR Summer theme, it doesn't have to be beach related.  It can be anything Summer means to you - playing in the pool, watching Summer sport, walking in the park, ice creams, cold drinks, sunscreen and hats ....

Here is my take on the inspiration and theme ...

 Inspired by the red, blue, yellow and sand colours and the beach theme - I am so lucky to live so close to the ocean. I should never take that for granted.

I love yellow - such a cheerful colour - it's the colour of happiness, and optimism, of enlightenment and creativity, sunshine and summer here in Australia.  I am sure you can see that in my layout.

Renew ...

Last year my One Little Word was a phrase “Letting It Go”.  I had so much baggage in my life – both physically and mentally I truly wanted to sort through it all and remove some of it from my life.  In a way 2015 taught me that life is way too short to get weighed down by meaningless excesses – moving forward is easier when you aren’t carrying things you don’t really need or simply aren’t helpful to you - I needed to let it go and I did. 

In 2016 my One Little Word to try and live by is Renew.  Time to refresh my life – again physically and mentally.
