Teeth and tape on The Lollipop Ladies ...

Check out the current challenge on The Lollipop Ladies ...

Now how cute as these little crocodiles?  Way too good to eat but wonderful for crafty inspiration.

Crocodiles...

with the additional challenge of Washi.

It just so happens I needed a birthday card for one of my son's friends and this was the perfect opportunity.

I let Google be my friend and found a cute free clipart image of a crocodile online and then printed him and a "snappy" line onto white cardstock.  I then added in some washi grass and double layered in cardstock and hey presto .. one card.

There are literally thousands of free clipart images available online.  It is SO easy to find some that work for you and print them out.  They can make such quick and easy cards - why not give it a try!

We'd love to see what you can come up with for our crocodile challenge.  Please join in with us!

Guest DT spots are able to be won each fortnight
and our sponsor this fortnight is: Mad for Markers*
(thanks to Sammi).
A choice of 3 of her M4M digi stamps.

Scrap Africa #20 ...

Challenge 20 on Scrap Africa is to use blue/green and white plus 2 photo's.  I actually love these colours and since I had the last pieces of a EP For the Record 2 kit sitting on my craft table which uses this combination I thought I would use these up.

There's nothing quite like a summer water fight between siblings!

123 Get Scrappy ...

I recently came across 123 Get Scrappy who have listed their first ever challenge this month and decided to play along with them.

The idea is to use the criteria by playing either a row across, down, or diagonal.

I've gone with red, free choice (brads)  and thickers.

My style ....

So what exactly is "my style"?  This is the question being asked and the type of layout being called for over on Kraft It Up this month.

So last month @ Kraft It Up, your challenge was to create a layout in a different style than your own, SOOO this month we want to see "YOUR STYLE"

I guess my style if I had to define it, is uncluttered and simple - I prefer white space and clean lines given a choice but I personally think scrapbooking should be more about enjoying the process, whatever that may be, rather than being categorised into a set design "box".

Multiples ...

The first challenge of the month on The Studio Challenges is to use multiple photos on a layout - three or more in fact.

I'll admit I'm normally a one or two photo girl or I go the other direction and put a large number on a double page spread so I end up with a few little piles of pictures I haven't as yet scrapped that tend to fall in the inbetween category.  These seem to get shoved aside and forgotten.  The four I have used on this layout are prime examples of long forgotten pictures, from probably 10 years ago - it was about time they made it to a page.

A scrapbooking recipe ...

Scrap the Girls have a recipe challenge this month.

All entries must use ...

flowers
masking
doodling and
chipboard or wood veneers

I've fussy cut flowers from patterned paper, used a hexagon mask and then hexagon shaped chipboard and then light doodled the edges of these.

Turning, turning ...

It is my turn today to  present my take on the Push Pops challenge over on The Lollipop Ladies

Push Pops

with the additional challenge of  Movement

I decided after some hard thinking to go with a pinwheel card (and yes it does turn).  I use these little guys frequently on my layouts, they are super easy to make and really effective.  I also makes me feel good when I use up those paper scraps we all seem to accumulate by the box full.

If you would like to know how to make these follow this simple tutorial.

Hope you can play along with us.

Guest DT spots are able to be won each fortnight

$10 Voucher (thanks to Andrea).
Please link up your entries in the sidebar :-)
Prize will only be offered if 7 or more entries partake in the challenge.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear ...

It's the second challenge on Child's Play and this week we have a classic book from Eric Carle.

Do you recall reading this one to your children or grandchildren?

This is my first contribution as part of the design team and I'm really happy to be involved with such fun loving inspiration and a lovely group of ladies.
For this inspiration I've switched the question around a little in my layout title to reflect the fact that it is my then baby son doing all the brown bear gazing!

I do hope you can join in with us.

The current card sketch (#66) on Feeling Sketchy is a nice one and prompted me to make a card at the retreat I was on over the past two days.

Hope you like it !!

It's all Child's Play really ...

I've recently been invited to join the design team for Child's Play Challenges and of course I said yes.  Our first inspiration is now up on the blog - can any of you remember your children playing with one of these?

Use this great little medical set to inspire you to create a layout - could be about playing Doctor or a trip to the actual Dr or a stay in hospital.  It might even be about something completely different.

Stop by the blog to find out what some of the design team did with this medical related theme.

My first layout as part of the team will be for the second inspiration this month.

Pixels and Paper for August ...

Our inspiration photograph on Pixels and Paper this month is one I think you will all enjoy ...

so many ways to interpret this gorgeous photograph.  Use the colours, use the fashion, go vintage, highlight the hair or the legs or the shoes.  Work on a pageant theme or visit the beach ... the choices are endless and I can't wait to see what you all come up with.

We have some lovely inspiration pieces on the blog for you to view.  This is my interpretation ...

I knew I had the perfect photo from probably the same era in a lovely picture of my MIL in her younger days whilst on holiday in Skegness, England.  I then let the colours inspire me.

I so hope you will join us this month.

Beautiful Archi-scraps ...

The challenge on Archi-scraps is a beauty this month ... in every way perhaps.

Use this picture for inspiration with the added criteria of flowers

and you could win these gorgeous flowers from

in fact as a bonus if you use this code ARCHI you will receive 10% off your first order of flowers

I couldn’t go past highlighting one of the lovely quaint English houses complete with cottage garden we saw everywhere on our trip around Britain.  I’ve used Sassafras papers and one of my last foldies I had in my stash (I was so sad when this company closed down - loved the Sassafras line.)

So long and goodbye for a little while ...

I'm a little sad that this month is the last challenge on From Screen 2 Scrap for a while.  Hopefully the blog will be back, bigger and brighter with a whole new look next year so keep posted.

So, as this is the last challenge we would like to see lots of entries :)

This is a FREE scrap, so anything goes.......
But there will be an extra point if you add an owl or two!!

with a prize of a choice of 3 of her M4M digi stamps.

Stars to me definitely mean Christmas and I thought I would share with you a really fun way to create some very personal cards for treasured family and friends this coming Christmas .... after all as I type there are but 144 days until the man in red makes an appearance :)

These stars are  made using a technique called "pinhole embroidery". The pattern is punched on card stock with a needle then the design is "stitched" with embroidery thread. I've added tiny rhinestones for some glitter and glam, a chipboard star on one and a star brad on the other and mounted these on a cardstock and Christmas patterned paper base - add a sticker sentiment or stamp one yourself in a co-ordinating colour and voila! - personal stylish cards for the festive season.

Want to create your own?

These cards are based on a Pinhole Star by Kate Gannon. Instructions can be found at www.craftcreations.co.uk  in the "Free Craft Projects"  section under Magazine Issue 55-Autumn 2009.
