I just had to use the triangles and black, yellow and pink colour scheme. I found this triangle paper in my stash and used it for my base and then used strips of washi tape in place of patterned paper. I cut tiny triangles from yellow cardstock and placed them randomly over existing triangles. The flower was stamped onto cardstock and then cut out. Hope you like it.

And a final, final one ...
Sneaking in one last layout for Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia. I couldn't resist this bright and cheerful moodboard.

Last challenges for August ...
I found some time this afternoon to complete a couple of final layouts for August challenges. I apologise in advance for the quality of the images as it is late in the afternoon and I'm afraid I have lost the light.
The first one is for Show us your stuff using this moodboard plus something handmade.
The second one is for Sassy Scrappers using this moodboard and the added criteria of watercolouring with mists, thickers and enamel dots.
I misted my background using Tattered Angels glimmer mist in blue and used papers and stickers from the MME - Find your wings and fly range. Doilies, green thickers and enamel dots complete my page.

I have used the colours of red, blue/green and yellow on a white background and bordered my page in red like the outer edge of the moodboard. I added tiny wooden stars and a quote for my page and although not the same quote as the one used here it was more in keeping with the photograph I used. The handmade red heart embellishment is from Chantal Vandenberg.

Some summer fun ...
Playing along with TANDO Creative this month where their theme is Summer.
Summer for us is long hot days, daylight savings and the kids in the pool. I am truly grateful for that after a cold winter where my poor husband gets up in the dark and returns home in the dark on workdays and it is hard to get my son motivated and out of bed ready for school.
Love this patterned paper and thought it worked really well for the summer theme. I've used two washi tapes as well as a few enamel dots. I stamped ink splotches on the paper to represent water splashes - Hello Summer, Hello Fun !!

I am also submitting this page to the August challenge on Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo which is to use letters and numbers on your page.
Scrapping Outback ...
Joining in with Scrapping Outback this month with their "White with a twist" colourboard challenge featuring this vibrant colour combination.
I actually interpreted the label and flower centres as yellow as opposed to gold which is what it looked like on my screen initially. Ah well a bit late to change it now!
Anyway it was fun putting this page together and another photo taken from my "yet to scrap" pile which funnily enough never seems to get any smaller :)

August with Picture This ...
Playing along with Picture This during August.
Their first challenge is to have a black background + 1 photo + 2 pattern papers.
I have used a black and white print on black cardstock with a heart cut from red and white patterned paper and mounted on white cardstock.

This is my mother when she was in her early twenties. I often wonder what dreams she had for herself and my father at this age - whether they feared for the future or looked at life as a positive adventure. This was the early 1950's and Australia had only come through the second world war a handful of years before - things were still in short supply and life was uncertain. I guess the future, while an unknown quantity, was better than those difficult years of the past.

White with 1 ...
I have been enjoying the lovely splashes of colour amongst the challenge moodboards this month and was quite taken by the White plus Custard inspiration on White with 1.
I immediately knew which photo I had to scrap for this layout - I just love the magic of a new day portrayed in this photograph - its fresh and new which is how I tried to keep the essence of my page.
A gold butterfly ...
Playing along with Scrap Much this month where their challenge is the use of GOLD on your page. I have been trying to use up some of my older stash and in particular a number of rubons I have had floating around for ages. This gold butterfly seemed perfect for a "gold" challenge and worked equally well for a challenge on Scrapbook Fantasies to use BUTTERFLIES.
Thanks for looking, Jane xx

Being unruly ...
Playing along with Unruly Paperarts this month with their Manly challenge and added colourboard.
Really enjoyed creating this page using bits and pieces of left over Basic Grey and off cuts from my scrap basket. Simple but effective I say :)
Also sharing this with Clique Kits - Anything goes challenge this month.

Some Imogen love ...
Playing along with the August challenge on Scrap it with Attitude this month - Use at least 3 photos and washi tape.
I have used the colour scheme from the Off the Rails Scrapbooking mood board for August.

My daughter is something of a Imogen Heap fan - having been to the two concerts she scheduled in Australia over the last few years and a recital at the Sydney Opera House where she was lucky enough to score a personal autograph and photos with the lady herself. It's probably time Imogen did a return visit to our shores - I know my daughter is eager to see her perform again.
Lovely wattle ...
I was drawn to the moodboard at Berry71bleu this month, in particular the gorgeous colour scheme of yellow, black and white.
Another freaking scrappy challenge had a theme this month of nature so what better way to combine these delightful colours with something equally beautiful from Mother nature.

ARTastic in August ...
This month on ARTastic we hope to inspire you with this amazing painting by Kirra Jamison called Over The Moon. The background of this painting is simply astonishing and we wanted to inspire you to create one of your own so this month our CRITERIA is all about the background - use stencils, gesso, paint, ink, texture ... whatever you want to make those backgrounds a feature of your page.
I used various digital techniques to build up my background and then was inspired by the sweet owl to document a memory from my own childhood.
Pixels and Paper August challenge ...
Ahhh August - it could be cold, it could be wet, it may even snow or might be fine and sunny or blowing a gale - in fact it could well do this all in the one day !! The most you can say about August is she is unpredictable!
So this month at Pixels and Paper we thought we might put some colour into our last official month of winter. I am sure you can be inspired by all or any of these bright and happy hews or cut right to the chase and scrap some of our recent unusual snow falls along the east coast or perhaps you have been happily heading up and down the official ski slopes enjoying the white stuff with family and friends.
and my interpretation ....
I was drawn to the wintery background of the inspiration photo and decided to use some photos of my son's school trip to Perisher last winter. It was his first time seeing snow and trying out skiing so his week of cold was quite a highlight for him.
Hope you can come play along with us this month.
