QVB ...

Playing along with Archi-scraps this month using this photos as inspiration and the criteria of "domes".

Hmmm, domes I thought.  I've done all my vacations which featured domes and then I suddenly remembered I had some great snaps of the Queen Victoria Building (affectionately known as the QVB) in downtown Sydney.  This building is stunning both inside and out and is heritage listed.  Designed by the architect George McRae it was completed in 1898 and has undergone massive renovation in recent years to become the masterpiece it is today.

It is a beautiful building filled with amazing stained glass windows, decorative tiling, wrought iron balustrades and some outstanding architectural features.

Thanks for looking,
Jane xx

I love that building too. You are just like me taking photos of the ceiling and how could you not? Love your page and chosen details.
