Vintage Skegness ...

Such a pretty colour board on Scrap Much this month - I just couldn't resist using it for a page.

I played up the blue and green tones and added highlights in the pink/red.  I used the neutral as my background paper.

I love working with older black and white photographs - I find there is just so much character to be found in them.  They truly were snippets of everyday life.  Many photographs I have from my parents and my husband's parents are the "street" variety.  Professional photographers would take random photos of people passing by and then sell these photos on.  Owning your own camera was rare in those days and this was a great way of securing an image or two for little cost.

This photo is of my MIL and her sister walking down the street at Skegness, a popular summer holiday destination on the east coast of England.

I am also submitting this page to the February challenge at Scrap it With Attitude which, yes you guessed it, is a vintage one.

Beautiful layout! I love that black and white photo. It really pops so nicely from the patterned papers. I also like that you used a vintage photo, with modern papers, and it totally worked. Thank you for sharing with us at ScrapMuch?
