Loving these colours ...

Playing along with Scrapbooking Top 50 moodboard this month.  It is a pretty one.  Love this colour combination.

I have covered them all in a slightly more subtle colour scheme.

ARTastic in November ...

I have to say that the painting we have for you this month on ARTastic is one of my favourites for this year - It is just so vibrant and colourful.  It is called Weeds and is by Emma Uber - you will find no prettier weeds anywhere !!

CRITERIA is the use of FLOWERS on your work

I was inspired by the colours in this artwork and the random look of the background with splashes of paint here and there.  I have used a vintage photograph of my mother as a baby - one of very few I have of her as a child.

Anchors away ...

Joining in with Unruly Paperarts where their challenge this month is a NAUTICAL theme with the inclusion of  Red, White, Blue, Silver and Black.

I have made just a simple card using a Stampin Up stamp, cardstock and patterned paper.  A great card for a masculine birthday.

Loving ladybirds ...

When I saw this little moodboard image over on Scrapbook Boutique I sort of fell in love .... like who wouldn't?  these are just so cute.

I love ladybirds, we used to see lots of them when I was a child.  They'd land on my arms sometimes when I was playing outside and I would shake them off saying the old nursery rhyme of Ladybird, ladybird, Fly away home, Your house is on fire, And your children all gone ...

You don't see so many these days - I guess urban living, pesticides etc have made them less prevalent but I still love those tiny ladybirds.

White with 1 - just peachy ...

White with 1 has a pretty colour combination this month ..

and I had to think a little bit about how I would use this on my layout.  Finally I came up with documenting a family favourite and sweet treat.

An ARTastic October ...

This month on ARTastic we hope to inspire you with this beautiful painting by E Phillips Fox called The Green Parasol (1912)

Here is my take this month ...

I loved the soft feel of this artwork and it's setting within a garden with lots of beautiful blooms in evidence which I have tried to replicate on my page.  This is a gorgeous vintage photograph of my Aunt when she was 3 years old and I totally love everything about it - from the bow in her hair to the little shoes on her feet.

It's pink ...

I did this page for the "I am inspired" challenge on ScrapLounge.

 I was really taken with the pink - such a shock of colour and found the brightest pink I had in my cardstock stash to use as my base.  It isn't an exact match but is very close to the image.  I used touches of green to represent the pops of greenery.  I was extra pleased with myself as I managed to use up some felt embellishments which had been sitting in my stash for what seems like years!

Simple as 123 ...

Sneaking in another challenge for September - gosh can you believe it will be October tomorrow, this year has just flown past.  This one is for 123 Challenge Blog  and as challenges go was a bit of a toughie and it took me a little while to work out how I would tackle it.

Eventually I settled on a Super Hero theme which took care of the Super effectively, the burgundy is in the patterned paper and the coloured pencil is on the background as well as in the colouring in on the talk bubbles.

Sunshine and blue skies ...

I was hoping to get both challenges for September done for Picture This but I am afraid time has not been my friend this month and I have only managed to complete the second challenge - Sunburst + 2 photos + buttons

A fresh beginning ...

The challenge at Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge this month is all about beginnings.

My delightful MIL bought herself a lap top while in her late 70's and took herself off to her local community centre for adult computer lessons thereby proving you are never too old to make a fresh beginning.

Also submitted for the anything goes challenge at Clique Kits.

Some September Christmas cheer ...

I am probably not alone when I say I have a file full of Christmas photos I have yet to scrap, many from years and years ago.  There are family photos, ones of kids opening presents, Christmas concerts, Christmas carols, visits to Santa, Christmas lunch, Christmas dinner, Christmas lights and trees and decorations and .... well you get the idea.  I also have a draw full of Christmas designed paper, cardstock, ribbon, embellishments and assorted stickers just waiting to be used up.

So it is probably no real surprise when I tell you I really like Christmas related scrappy challenges that aren't in December and I can pull out this file grab a photo and put together a quick and simple layout.

Scrapbookit has one such challenge this month and I can tick one more Christmas family photo off my to do list :)

And a final, final one ...

Sneaking in one last layout for Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia.  I couldn't resist this bright and cheerful moodboard.

I just had to use the triangles and black, yellow and pink colour scheme. I found this triangle paper in my stash and used it for my base and then used strips of washi tape in place of patterned paper.  I cut tiny triangles from yellow cardstock and placed them randomly over existing triangles.  The flower was stamped onto cardstock and then cut out.  Hope you like it.
